Dont drink soda or eat fat foods or eat sweets. Play with your friends outside and your metabolism will do the rest unless you have a thyroid problem.

Exercising is the best thing you can do for your body right now. Unless you are literally obese, you should not be losing weight at this age, since within the next couple of years you will grow very quickly. Many children go through a chubby phase in middle school, which they lose once they get their final growth spurt. So, exercise to stay healthy, and eat healthy food but don't count calories or anything.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Lots of factors have to go in to this.
unless it is an obese 12 yo i would say just leave the kid alone she is still growing.
in case of the obese 12yo walks and lots of them cut tv time down. more playing outside! enjoy being 12! lots of fruits and veggies and protein. portion control. try and cut out soda that will help a lot! any sugar you can cut out will be good unless its natural sugar like fruit. lots of water 8, 8oz glasses a day.

Just cut out junk food and go for walks. No extreme excercise, since your body is still developing.
