In the garden of Gethsemane Jesus prayed "If it is possible, let this cup pass from me (Don't make me go through it). However not my will but yours be done."

Jesus did have free will. Let's not forget that Jesus was sent to save mankind from God's wrath to come AND let's not forget that No-one, but No-one in the Earth or in Heaven was qualified to save mankind except Jesus.

At any point Jesus could have said to his father "that's it I'm not going through with this." or Jesus could have sinned and should either of these had happened, "All Of Mankind Would Be On Our Way To Hell" and that would be the end of mankind.

Well first of all Jesus is not created. Secondly God's plan before the creation of this universe was for Jesus to be Holy to be the perfect sacrifice for sin. And there is only one holy being and that is God. And since God is by nature holy he cannot sin. Free will or for him to back out of it was not an issue for Jesus.

He did sort of. But not quite as free as yours. He didn't have the free will to walk funny, for example.

As for saving mankind, God also had an only begotten daughter; and she was going to come down and save mankind if Jesus decided not to.

Personally I would have preferred her.

This is clear contradiction of Bible.MY dear ESSA (JESSUS) was prophet/special messanger from ALLAH(THE GOD) svior in the sense that he given and lead humanity to the true path of ALLAH. But still he had free will to choose. But when HE has seen the truth he choosen wright path and ALLAH blessed him for that. Same if you see in darkness only one light and move towards it then it will be your choice and you as normal person will never like to wander in the darkness again.

Probably not although when He was in the garden he was sort of saying I don't really have to do this--I could just walk away. But, then He was the only one there and the writers of the gospels didn't start writing until several years after His death.

I don't see why not.
Just because he was destined to do something, doesn't mean he didn't have free will to follow his path. He even tried asking his Father if it was possible to get out of it.
I forgot the specific verse..
Darn! I'm getting rusty, believe it or not I once knew 60% of the Bible by memory. Now I can barly name all the books of the O.T. Ahh, if only my parents could see me now! :P

I am not Christian but I would guess they would say it was because he was God. But now a greater question emerges doesn't that mean the people who killed him had no free will and that they were in fact doing the work of God by doing so.

Jesus chose to. He could have backed out at any time. However, if God talked to you personally, would you tell him, "Yea right, I aint doin that even if it does mean I can live forever."

he did have free will but had to go through the process of life and death as a mortal so he could pass by the purgatory and save all that were stuck there.
