NO......Facial hair is not recommended and is restricted by regulations. A beard will interfere with the use of a protective mask. While small mustaches are authorized I would not recommend them if you want a career in the military. I would also not recommend tattoos or body piercing.
Be careful. I do not know how you intend to "become an Infantry Officer"......but be sure that everything you want is written .....WRITTEN.....in the enlistment contract.....do not take the recruiters promises and assurances....get it in writing
iQ Fitness.....You are wrong about special forces.....they must obey hair cut and facial hair regulations also......the ONLY exception to policy is DELTA......or specific mission requirement......I know......been a 15 year veteran of special forces

First you will need a college degree to become an officer. I would suggest a ROTC program on the college level. Also there are certain units that are permitted to grow beards, these units are highly specialized however and will take an intelligent, diligent, dedicated individual to achieve such a lofty goal. Good luck

Only special forces have beards... Most special forces units do not shave or shower whilst on patrol, supposedly this is to make sure that they don't smell like personal hygine products which carry on the air and may give away their position... Also this can give them the ability to blend in more when necessary.

No beards. They interfere with personal hygiene in the field, and make it impossible to get an airtight seal on your chem warfare gear.
