hello there...

i'm female with shoulder-length hair (longer than my avatar now) and i would like to try a tousled hair look. however, i have a left side parting, so most of my fringe falls over my right eye. my fringe is able to cover my right eye.

haha.. okay so right to the point. i want to create a tousled hair look, but i have some questions:
1. would a girl with my hairstyle be able to look gd with that hair?
2. shld i use wax, mousse, gel or??
3. i have a round face, can i still have a tousled hair look?

thanks! pls do advise me :)

heehee thanks alot. but now for more details:
1. straight hair.. but it curls out at the shoulders
2. my hair is rather light and it gets REAL messy when the wind blows (hv thin brown hairs and thick black hairs, but overall my hair is rather light)

can u provide wsome pics so i can copy that look.. ahha better still if the pic is of you (and not super models) so it will be more realistic cos it's home-made tousled hair!

ummm.

you need layers to make it work and look okay.
i have a shag. layers start about nad inch long. and all i have to do it rub my hair and spray hairspray and it looks bigger and realllll nice.

:]
so turn your head upside down and spray hairspray for extra body and just mess it up.
or dont comb it in the morning!
:D

Yes you can definitely have a tousled hair look. However it is going to look more "tousled" if it's shorter, probably chin length or so would be more ideal. But you can still do it. You didn't note if your hair was straight, wavy, curly..... I am going to assume it's relatively straight. First, start with dry hair. Second-day hair is even better than freshly clean hair since it will have more body due to the oils being in it. Get your hands wet under the sink and run 'em through your hair two or three times. You want the hair to be just a tiny bit damp, barely wet at all. The product I would recommend is L'oreal StudioLine "Out of Bed Weightless Texturizer". It comes in a cylindrical tub and you can get it at really any grocery or drugstore, and for under five bucks at most. Take about a large fingertip full, rub it between your hands, and rub your hands through your hair. You probably need to repeat with another dab of this since you have pretty long hair. Tousle it up nicely with the product. Then take your blowdryer on the cool setting and just give the hair a quick blast all over, tousle it more if you need to. Finish with a light coating of hairspray, not too much. I hope that helps!

I can never get that look by doing it myself lol
so usually what i do is curl my hair the day before
with a spray gel
and then sleep with it
and then the next day it would be all tousled&&cutee
just put product in like a serum and comb it a little

I love that tousled hair look. so cute and yet soo sexy. Well it will be nice if your hair is wavy. if not, you can braid your hair or put them in little buns the night before. I have a left side parting too and it works beautifully for me. My boyfriend loves it. anyways...hehe my hair is wavy and i use GEL to put in my hair. I rub the gel in both of my hands and scruch my hair is give it body and more waves from root first to tips. at the under layer of my hair, i kinda comb the gel through because my hair there gets tangly often so i dont scrunch my hair there. It helps if your hair is kind of damp before putting the gel in. After the gel dries, i spray my hair with a LITTLE of hair spray. it looks sooo sexy when it is done!! Hope this helps yo out and you get the look you are looking for!!! you will look sooo cute too!

I use Dax Wax (red tin) but this would definitely be no good for shoulder length hair.

For the length of hair you are describing I would have to agree with Coral and suggest you use the hairspray option as she suggests.

My hairstylist uses products like "d:struct pliable molding creme" by d:fi and "Second Day" by Unite Eurotherapy to create this look.

I should add that I use the same products at home, but can never get it to look as good :-)

i absolutely would die without POMADE!!

try getting the BEDHEAD brand pomade, it's in a little yellow container.

just put some in your hair(wet or dry) and scrunch it around.
it should look awesome.

good luck =]
