LCD HDTV's 50" or bigger. What's your favorite brand / model and why?

I know mine, but I'd like to hear what you folks like and why, as the one I like also happens to be the most expensive and am looking for cheaper alternatives.

Sony....best training in the world.

Sony .... Best support in the world. EXCEPT on Black Friday! Grrr....buying stuff when I need a SIMPLE question/update answered...

Sony....best design of electronic components...

Overall they are just better than MOST....

But I'd still buy a Toshiba or Hitachi...
Or Mitsubishi....
They make a good TV too...they just don't have the same level of SUPPORT. I think they sent the TECHs packing.....

is your tv a lcd projector or flat panel would be the first question. second, if its flat panel the new samsung 52 inch 1080p lcd is the single most stunning tv ive ever seen. it is pricey but well worth it if you can afford it. if its the projection type you have too many options to really compare fairly. some will go with sony (which i personally dig) and some would go wth the jvc LiCOS type with is a lcd hybrid of sorts. both have the comsumable lamp which needs replaced every 5 years or so. but back to the beginning, if it is a flat panel i say samsung all the way, superior contrast, brightness, and the longevity of the flat panel is 50,000 plus hours. which means you will be tired of the tv way before it wears out

well, as anyone knows who has had any experience with korean nationals ,they are some of the brightest and most dedicated workers in the world today.
check them out i'm sure they have a web site as most koreans are way computer savvy. in fact i found it its under lg electonics on the search window of this service. good luck.

I have always liked sony. Anytime I buy something electronic I try to buy a sony. My grandpa always told me they were thebest.
