I have to bake 40 potatoes for a family party tomorrow. I have never done potatoes in the oven... Can some one tell me the easiest way to do this. At what temp should I cook them & for how long, etc.

If it is regular baked potatoes you just put a pat of butter on each and wrap in aluminum foil and bake at 350 for an hour and it is done. Hey a kinda neat idea. why don't you make a mini potato bar with sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped bacon oh and butter. or whatever you could think of.

I like to prick the potatoes with a fork and then put them in the microwave for 5 minutes and then into an oven set at about 180 degrees celcius. I find it cuts the cooking time down by half.
It will depend how big your potatoes are as to how long you need to bake them. If they are large maybe 30-45mins.

wash them, rub with garlic salt, wrap in foil, set the oven on 400, and bake for 1 hour. For something special try using sweet potatoes instead of ruskets. They are healthier and the taste with a little butter and brown sugar is devine

Put twenty on one rack and twenty on the other.
Turn on the oven to 450. Once it heats up turn it off.
The oven will keep enough heat to cook the potatoes and you will save energy. Due it about an hour and a half before the party and they will still be hot.

COOK AT 375 FOR 1 HOUR.... POKING HOLES IN THE POTATOES BEFORE PUTTING THEM IN THE OVEN. YOU MAY HAVE TO LEAVE THEM IN THE OVEN LONGER, BECAUSE YOU ARE BAKING SO MANY... PUT YOU CAN USE YOUR FORK TO TEST IF THEY ARE DONE.... YOU CAN ALSO THROW THEM IN THE MICROWAVE FIRST TO SPEED UP THE COOKING TIME. POKE HOLES AND PUT IN MICROWAVE FOR 20 MINUTES TESTING FIRMNESS AND FINISH IN THE OVEN FOR CRISPNESS.
