It is depending on who is using it, a Good Ole white boy from the south will refer to themselves as Rednecks. They have a contest down south called the Redneck Games

But if anyone else uses it , It is a racist term.

Redneck is a derogatory term, it is not racism "in and of itself".

Racism is the basing of an opinion or belief on race.

this for some reason hard for antis to understand

Immigration stance HAS NOTHING TO DO with racism......UNLESS YOU ARE BASING YOUR BELIEF ON RACE

I believe Antis are using ths as a TACTIC to smokescreen the REAL racism....they seem to want to hide the racists in there camp and never call them on there racism they AGREE IN SILENCE

It refers to whites, primarily farmers who work in the field, wear coveralls and long shirts to protect themselves from weeds and pollen and such, and get sun burned on the back of their necks.

Uppity whites would like to try and insult country whites by calling them rednecks, but country whites would laugh it off, and consider it to be a badge of honor, so the whole concept backfired on the city slickers. City slickers, by the way, tend to get upset when you call them city slickers. I guess because deep down, many of them are ashamed of themselves.

There are very few whites who get offended by any term that refers to them as a white person, because most whites are proud of who they are. Personally, I feel sorry for people who are so easily offended, except it seems that too many people like to play the victim for dirty underhanded purposes.

That's right, I gots me a double wide. My grandaddy's name was Earl.

It's a cultural insult to many, and should not be used by those who are not white! Personally, rednecks are hard working people of the land and should be revered by all.

It is a prejudiced term against people who work in the sun in physical labor and get a red neck.

It was used by the 'elite' who didn't get their hands dirty against those who did, and might not have the college (or other) education the 'elite's' had.

The idea is that they are uncultured and crude.

However, it has taken on a cultural identity of its own having to do with 'real' as opposed to 'fake' people, and a lot of people who called themselves red neck are educated but consider themselves down to earth, not snobs, or 'country'.

Sort of like when that Democrat Assemblyman in California said that those against illegal immigration were 'crackers' and it became a very popular bumper sticker to have 'I'm a Cracker'.

Loyalty, patriotism, bravery, a strong sense of family and duty and faith.... all of those unenlightened attributes, you know?

The explosion is in our population . . .
They are shitting in their pants with fear...I love it.
We have got to eliminate the gringo,
and what I mean by that is,
