many already do and have for a very long time, case in point would be the windmill, the next is the water powered generators. Those are just two, but there is many more.

Depends of what kind of motor are we talking about. If its an electric, for sure it has to run on electricity. Not every motor has to have electric supply to run, all they need is a fuel to run on and as a product of their work we can have electricity.
