Start by putting eggs in pot. Add cold water. Then cook on high without a lid until it comes to a full boil. Boil for 5 minutes, then turn down heat to med-low & put on lid. Cook for 20 minutes. When done take off lid & put in the kitchen sink & run cold water on them, while they are still in the pan, until they are cool to the touch. You can add salt to the water if you want, but I have found that it makes the shell stick to the egg. You have to watch the eggs in the beginning so that they don't over cook. Good luck!

I learned this at New England Culinary.
Put the eggs in the pan. Cover with water. Add 2 tablespoon of vinegar to the water. Bring to a boil, then put a lid on the pot and put aside. Eggs will be ready after 20 minutes.

Carefully place the egg in the pan and cover with cold water. Sprinkle some salt into the water (makes it easy to peel). Let water come to a boil and if you want hard boiled eggs, it takes 10 full minutes. Then pour of the hot water and add cold. Peel as soon as you can handle it.

You need too add salt to the water and make sure you aren't boiling it on high heat. Once it starts boiling, Medium is great and don't overcook because overcooking will make them crack every time.
