I recently contemplated purchasing Assassin's Creed, but I thought to myself if it was worth the 60 dollar price tag. I know that's a great game, but will it be warranted by my 60 dollar purchase?

Before the reviews for Assassin's Creed came out, I was highly anticipating Assassin's Creed and I wanted to buy it, but now I have decided not to buy it. I really don't think that the game is worth $60 bucks. I will probably wait until Assassin's Creed drops down to $29.99 or $39.99 before I buy it.

Usually, a game review doesn't persuade my decision to buy a game or not, but now that games cost $59.99 for the newer generation of consoles, whenever I buy a PS3 game it has to be a good game to me and it must really catch my attention.

I just rented Assassin's Creed for PS3. I have completed the game in 2 days. I loved the graphics and the gameplay. There was a lot of unique effects added to the game that haven't been done as good before. The game did have some issues. The controls were a little complex and takes time to learn them but there's a tutorial at the begining that helps. The objectives can get a little repetitive but, with the fighting and visuals its not a bother since the story is well in depth. I liked the game but my main issue was THE ENDING! it was the stupidest ending i've ever seen. Since you probably haven't played it I won't give anything away except the ending was really odd. With that said the game makes a good rental but buying it I would say went it first. If you really like the game you can buy it. I know for me I'm glad I rented it I wouldn't buy it now since I finished the game. Minus the extra findings like flags and others.

While the game was somewhat short, I enjoyed it quite a bit. If one doesn't go after all the bonus bits and goes for fairly middle level information gathering, you can probably finish the bulk of the game in probably less than twenty hours.

That being the case, it was quite satisfying to play through. The graphics, sound and animation are very well done. The only flaw I had was a wish for a little bit more responsiveness to the fighting system.. maybe a completely different control set that was more involved than six possible button presses (three for offensive, three for defensive – same buttons, just with a modifier key pressed for defense.) The bulk of fights can be dealt with using a single button: the counter.

I can certainly recommend it. However I can understand the wish to budget one's money more conservatively or at least get more bang for your dollar.

If you are more into role playing or like going to completion, I can recommend Mass Effect if you have a 360.
