I believe that God works through people. I also believe that He gives doctors the wisdom to know about the human body and how to treat it. I believe finding the right medication is a gift from God.

i am bipolar, too, and i had a med cocktail that worked wonders, but then a few years ago it stopped working and they haven't found the right combination yet. I totally understand what he is going through. The only thing that keeps me getting through the days is God, prayer is the best medicine. I will definitely pray for your friend and her son..and his wife. mental illness affects everyone that loves that person, we can't neglect them. If its not too much to ask, could you give the first names of these people? i find my prayers are better when i can connect names with them. You are a wonderful friend that you care so much. The best thing you can do is pray and be there for your friend. listening is an amazing gift. God bless.

I will pray for him now. Sometimes it takes up to two weeks for the medicine to kick in,tell his wife to hang on and encourage the person who is bi-polar.He should not quite the medicine cold turkey ( all of a sudden ever)His wife should also call his doctor,he could provide reassurance, about the med, there is a movie called a ' Beautiful Mind ' about a noble peace prize winner, who was bi-polar and he was able to control it.

I am not saying this is so in all cases but it is worth looking into-
My daughter ahd symptoms of bipolar disorder- she had other issues also- I had so many doctors wanting to put her on medication for this and that but I never felt right about it and after prayer I always rejected the meds knowing that there was an underlying issue- she was not pharmaceutical meds deficient and their had to be a reason for her behavior.

She started getting really sick physically and a nutritionist friend suggested I have her allergy tested.
She would up having severe gluten and corn intolerance- she is so hypersensitive she cannot even use shampoo with wheat or corn producs in them.

I believe that God created our bodies and that He alone is the ultimate authority in what should go in them and what should not- I believe that though doctors have much wisdom they often underestimate the importance of what people eat and the long term and generational effects of our diet. I believe that a HUGE part of our medical problems are directly related to diet and sadly doctors are more willing to give meds than to investigate and deal with a persons dietary choices.
Because my daughters allergies and intolerances had gone undiagnosed for so long, the foods she could not handle were destroying her gut, thereby causing her body not to be able to absorb nutrients and in effect causing her brain to be deficient of much needed nutrients- in other words her brain was literally starving. A brain that is not getting the nutrients it needs, that is deficient in amino acids, etc is not going to function properly- resulting in disfunction such as ADD , ADHD, OCD, ODD, Bipolar and a variety of other disorders.
I am not sayin that there is noever a place for meds, but it should not be the very first avenue approached.
My daughter has been on the gluten and corn free diet long enough for her gut to heal and almost all symptoms of brain disfunction are completely gone. Two years ago she could not look someone in the face and have a conversation , she could not talk to you without wringing her hands constantly, having severe mood sewings for no apparant reason and often making little to no sense in her conversation. She has had NO meds of any kind, only the diet has changed and she has been on a natural enzyme supplement to help her body break down the foods- she is now able to look someone in the eye, have intelligent and mature conversation with no fidgeting, the moodiness is gone and the outbursts of unprovoked anger are GONE! It is nothing short of a miracle.

Everything we put into our mouths is going to affect our health positively or negatively- there is no in between- over the past few generations our diets have dramatically gotten worse and worse and the upcoming generations are suffering for it.

I highly suggest looking into food intolerances and allergies and amino acid deficiencies. In the meantime I will pray for healing, wisdom and discernment for the entire family

I too am bi-polar and understand the worry and pain of this disease. I will be in prayer for them. Are they Christians? I want to make sure to pray for their salvation as well if not.

Please do let us know how they are doing. If you think a prayer shawl would help either of them to wrap themselves in the Lord's love, let me know. I would be happy to send one to them

God bless and many prayers
Sue

He has my prayers. But just so you know I have seen other prayer requests "reported". Not a question, request or solicitation, I don't know but be aware it may happen. May the peace of Christ be with you.

There is no such thing as Bi-Polar, or whatever. This poor child is full of resentment and hatred for his mother (most likely domineering and "king-kong with bloomer) and a wimpy father (good for nothing nobody-most likely irresponsible and alcoholic).

Help him to deal with his pant-up frustration and anger and he will be free for both "polars"

The mother is "sucking the life"out of him. Wake up ! before it's too late!
