Tee hee, you're so funny! Thank God I don't sit behind you in church. This has never happened to me so I can't advise, only speculate how bad it would be. I guess, the devil is out to distract in any way he can! this reminds me of a favorite Christian verse:
To some, we are the stench of death. To others we are the aroma of Christ.
That's because, as humans we are destined to die in the flesh, but in the spirit, we only reflect Christ's beauty.

Look, be reasonable.... Put up your hand, and allow the priest, vicar or who-ever to let you speak. You say something like this.... "I'm awfully sorry, Vicar, but I have a great need to fart, and rather than embarrass those around me with a gawed awful stink and a horrid farty noise, I humbly request your permission to go outside for a few moments".
Now, that did not hurt; did it.

Try to hold it in, and if it's THAT bad, go to the bathroom quick or wait till the choir sings. But if you let it out, I guess you should say "excuse me.".
