You should be able to pay in installments. There is such a thing called Care Credit. It's like a credit card. Ask them about it. That's ridiculous of them to do that to you!

I know that this sounds aweful, but put some jars up at your local supermarkets, banks, gas stations, etc. Anywhere that wouls allow it and put your dogs picture on there with your story. There are lots of animal lovers out there that would be willing to give a buck or two towards getting your dog back. Thank god my veterinarian here is compassionate, he helps to help. But try that, even if you don't get your full amount, it will still help towards some of the bill.

If she was poisoned you should call the police and make out a report, that's animal cruelty. You should also find a way to prove it was your neighbor and take them to small claims court for the amount of the bill.

What about credit? I don't know your circumstances, but if possible you can apply for credit card called care credit thru your vets office. It's a card specifically for paying vet bills.

that's really messed up. try contacting the spca, they may have ways to help or at least have some advice.
