Food you eat everyday. Meatloaf, burgers, spaghetti, you name it.

Except for breakfast., you'd get what your mother might make for a sunday dinner.Ham, meatloaf, turkey, chicken, roaf beef, and lots of it. And you will be served fish on Friday.
Actually, the food is quite good. There isn't much seasoning, but it is nourishing and tasty.
A breakfast specialty is SOS ( chipped beef on toast). They say the Army makes a man out of you. Well, if you can eat chipped beef on toasdt at 530AM, you HAVE to be a man with a cement lined stomach.
You get used to it, and in fact, if you see someone in a restuarant ordeing SOS, 9 out of 10 says he's ex military.
Sun day evening meal is generally cold cuts, with a hot dish, such baked beans or fries. Also, you will see hamburgers once or twice a week. and you'll see spaghetti often.

In Navy bootcamp they serve healthy nutritional foods as well as some junk foods from time to time like pizza, and burritos it's not bad. The problem is you have 10 minutes to eat your food so you don't get to enjoy it:)

Back in the day, I can honestly say that I never had a bad meal while in the Army.
Cooks generally do an excellent job.
I started eating the NAVY BEANS my second day of basic, but its beena while.
The important thing is to eat the protein, watch the starches and carbs.
Don't go looking for gormet' meals. MRE's are good also.
C-rats in my day, but some of them were real , well can't use the word in mixed company.

They say that in the Army the Chow is mighty fine.

A biscuit rolled off the table and killed a friend of mine.

Repeat 1st verse

A chicken jumped off the table and started marking time.

Gee Ma I wanna go, Oh Ma I wanna go, Gee Ma I wanna go home.

It's freaking gore met.

Very bland tasting...that is if you have time to taste it. Sunday is usually the best day.
You get one meat choice, potatoes, vegetable and nasty punch to drink (at least that is how it was).
Usually you don't get any sweets till you pass your last PT test...or sneek it in on KP duty.
