One of my cats has a lump on his back, and it is bleeding very badly. The lump is now 2 inches large. I'm wondering what it is and if it is contagious. I am guessing that it is just a tumor, but I would like second opinions. What else could it be? I'm going to have to take him to the vet though. (My cat is very old by the way.)

Or maybe it's 1 and a half inches... I don't know. I don't try to look at it much since it's nasty looking.

"Just a tumor" as in that's the only problem it could be. I'm not saying it's not serious. It's obviously a serious problem.

What do you mean "just a tumor"? Isn't that really bad? Anyway, i suggest you go to the vet ASAP as if it continues to bleed badly you cat could die due to loss of blood or it could get seriously infected as it is an open wound.

I have three cats, and one of my cats had an abscess on his neck. We were told by the vet that when the cats play with each other, they can scratch each other and spread bacteria. I would definitely take him to the vet.

It sounds like that cat should be seen by a VET right away; I hope you don’t wait long. You should find a VET that’s open late, like an emergency VET clinic.
