Well, I never thought about it. Thanks for increasing my vocabulary. I will for now on.

I think the reason people capitalize "He" when they speak of God is because, seeing as He is the Higher Power and all, He should have a capitalized letter on his pronoun... Some people do refer to Him as He, after all.

Although I almost always do capitalize the "H" in "He" when referring to the Father, Son or Holy Spirit (my Yahoo! name notwithstanding,) I don't think God is worried about it. I usually do it for clarity in my writing, to differentiate whether the pronoun refers back to a person or God (but in my heart, I do see it as honoring His holiness.)

I don't see any need to, since my gods are not capitalized, why should I place someone else's god higher than the ones I venerate.
It makes no sense to me, to capitalize He and His and Him and God...no offense meant, but I see it as a political thing.

I think a lot of people don't understand the exceptions to the ordinary gramatical rules. God gets capitalized no matter how He is described.

Why should they? The only reason to do such a stupid thing is if you believe as a sign of respect. Why would I do that if I don't believe a god even exists? Just to cater to the Christian mindset? Sorry, but I think your mindset is wrong and I'm not going to help perpetuate your self delusion.

I do; however, some people could be in a hurry or not even know that they're supposed to capitalize a pronoun when it refers to a deity.

If I thought God cared about it, then maybe I would. Since I don't believe he cares, I don't sit around worrying about it. After all, those aren't his name(s); they're just pronouns. Just because some bad translation did it, doesn't mean I have to follow a rather poor example.

In my experience, it's the opposite. Seems natural and logical to me that any reference to a higher power would be capitalized to indicate respect.

Some Bibles use caps for pronouns and some don't. If lower case is okay in the KJV then it should be okay in Ya. However, if my lower case pronouns offend you then I will gladly use caps when answering your questions.
