My dog is obsessed with lighters: it has been years now that every time she finds a lighter she chews it until she breaks it and then she inhales the butane released. Anyone with similar stories?

No, everyone here isn't from PETA. However there is a warning on lighters now that specifically says to keep them away from children. I'll email the companies and see if they'll add the warning to include pets. It's pretty sad when they have to be that specific about a dangerous item. The butane WILL cause your dog to get ill and possibly die. Start putting your lighters where she can't get them and ask friend's/family to do the same.

when you own a dog it's a lot like owning kids. you keep unsafe items and foods out of their reach. why would you keep lighters in their reach? butane is poisonous.

No, because I don't keep lighters anywhere near my animals. Maybe you should start doing the same.
