Just make it modern so that it will appeal to them. That's what they did with the remake of Othello. It's called "O".

I agree. You will need to approach them on their level. It probably would be a good idea to enlist the help of some of the youth to write and perform the drama. Maybe have some comedy skits. Make it interesting for them.

The key is to make it applicable to their lives, and present it in a way that will not seem preachy. It will work best if some of the youth do the writing and the performing (rather than older people....kids are much more willing to listen to their peers than to people their parents' age.)

Well, we did a skit at church about teen pregnancy, but now days there is more than pregnancy to worry about. Drug absuse, sex abuse, std's, abusive relationships, bullies, bad grades, peer pressure, military (drafting/war/ect), and lying. Happy Holidays and I admire you for doing this. We need more people like you who will take the time to organize these types of things for the youthâ¥

You definitely need to appeal to their senses. Stoop down to their level...forget about being an adult for that time period.
That means bringing in props such as videos, visual posters etc. I also think you should bring a good sense of humor with you. If you're going to nit-pick (sp) everything they do, forget it. Just go with the flow of things, always ask if anyone has a question (don't assume they follow) and make things fun.

Young people like comedy, they enjoy humor. You'd be surprised at how much young people pay attention. When you think they're not, more than likely they are. I think people try to dress religion up too much, and they start focusing on making it fun and forget what they're really after.

Use modern music, clothes, language, etc. It has to be in tune to their age group, interests, etc. Youth gets lost when its too holier than thou and too long. The best thing to do is ASK them. Better yet, get them involved in it. Then you will know they enjoy it. Good Luck!

I would suggest that the best tact to use is to talk to the one who can make your production a success or failure...regardless of what you do. i.e God. Ask Him to help you find a way. I can assure you, He will give you what you need if you will trust him to do so.

Do it topless.
It will work, probably not what you are going for but it will get them to pay attention.
