Okay, so there are some atheists that insist on scientific proof of God before they will even consider believing.

Take this factor into consideration.

Are the rules of scientific evidence absolute and infallible?

For instance, 1000 years ago, how many people would have believed that there was scientific evidence to justify that the earth is round? Most scientists in those days would have laughed because there was no proof of the earth being anything more than just a flat earth.

So, is it just possible that proof is not there because you are limiting your lack of proof to current scientific thought? Is it just possible that the evidence is there, but the scientific community refuses to believe the evidence?

And please...don't answer this question with turning this question around on me...I've seen those answers 100s of times on here.

God is outside of the natural world and the universe so He is not observable or testable in normal scientific terms of direct observation...He is a super-natural or supra-natural being. We do have evidence of God's power and glory through His magnificent creation, the complexity and great variety of life, the genetic code of DNA for every living thing, the human brain which is more complex than all of the universe combined, the evidence of a global deluge that He caused to occur, the hundreds of prophecies in the Old Testament that came true, the scientific facts in many verses of the Old Testament, all of which were not known to science for many centuries yet still are valid today, and we have been told in the Holy Scriptures of the Bible of His Son, Jesus, who was born fully human yet sinless, fulfilled all the prophecies of His life and death, came to suffer and die for all our sins and offer us full salvation and atonement if we believe in Him.
Science is the search for and accumulation of knowledge whereas we, as believer's, hold that God is the creator and possessor of all knowledge...past, present and future. As data and information are gathered over the years and centuries, it's up to science to evaluate it in comparison to current hypothesis, theory or laws of science and adapt them as necessary to fit the facts as observed.
Considering that we have only a limited knowledge of the last 6000 years of human history, perhaps 10 percent of all species on earth and possibly 5-10 percent of the universe, it's evident that there is still a great deal to be learned of our world and the universe.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

I feel it is difficult to prove the existance of God in a scienticic context. The proof just isn't there. However, all scientific proof that points to the origin of the universe is ludacris.
Many believe that the bible is a fairy tale, but i believe it is more of a scientific fact than what the current scientific community conjectures as truth. At least the bible story is believable.
If energy cannot be created or destroyed only changed, that fact alone should be a big hole for all anti creationist theories.
But i forgot, believers have been brainwashed throughout history by the church. That doesn't happen today, schools, media etc... don't ever engage in brainwashing.I was told long ago to question everything,I don't say to follow a religion because I say so, just to question the validity of all arguments and then judge for your self.

(I hope i don't give one of those answers you get 100s of times, and if i do, i am sincerely sorry)

Well, we did discover that the earth was round didn't we. How did we do it? We acquired more scientific knowledge. By gathering more scientific knowledge, then we will eventually be able to prove whether or not God exists.

So basically, the best answer for the "is there a god" question would be "we do not have enough scientific evidence to prove or disprove the existence of a god."

First, your analogy is not a good one because Greek scientist knew that the earth was round 2 thousand years ago. It was the religious people who kept alive the flat earth idea.
Second, you can't believe in something and hope that you will eventually be proved right. You have to believe in the evidence that you see.

It is possible that the proof (or any evidence whatsoever) has just not been found yet. What does that mean, then? That we should believe in some kind of god for the sake of past scientific errors?

Realize that the imposed the world is flat was because of religion. The majority knew the world was round until the church came along. Scientists couldn't speak or even consider something that might be against the bible because they would be killed or "relieved of their sins."

Lastly, until proof for something is shown then there is no debate. It does not exist.

There is plenty of proof all around us of God. But some people look at that proof as evolution and not creation. But the only undeniable proof, is in the believers heart. An atheist does not have this proof, because they do not believe in God. But just because they do not believe it, or understand it, does not mean that it does not exist.

The word is spherical not round .A pizza is a round flat object . I find interesting that you are asking this question on this forum since it was the Church that actively surpresed the knowledge of the Ancient Greeks who knew that the world was spherical

Or will you decide what is?

Religion is based off of faith and not scientific evidence so your question is not really applicable. An interesting item that you may want to research is the 'Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster'. Below is an interesting article about this wondrous creator of all.
