Hi im also on fluoxetine and as you can see im also still awake!lol- it sucks but its just a side effect of the drug. like me u probably dont feel tired now but i no that if i actually went to bed now i would be able to sleep (after a little tossing and turning) if you go to ur doc he will advise you on ways to overcome insomnia- hypnotherapy is a really good way of helping this and ofcourse maintaining a structured sleep pattern is the best and healthiest way. The doc may prescribe u a sedative which will help u sleep on those days u just cant drop off but they cant be used all the time. I hope u start to feel better soon- you should talk to ur doc about this or ur mental health specialist/consellor as small things like this can add up and seem much bigger than they are and effect ur life in a bigger way than they should when ur depressed. Dont feel like ur alone bcoz ur not, and never feel like life isnt worth living bcoz once u have felt as low as u have things can only get better hun .Dont worry about life and take care x x x

Go back to the psychiatrist who prescribed the medication, which is the generic form of the SSRI, Prozac.. Either the diagnosis is wrong, or the medication needs to be changed.
Talk to one of the therapists at the outpatient program about your symptoms, including your wish to stop the program. Seeing as you had an OD attempt just 3 weeks ago tells me you are nowhere ready to stop treatment. You are at very high risk of doing it again unless you stick with the therapy.
Your high degree of denial is your worst enemy at this point, believe me.
I was initially diagnosed improperly and put on the wrong medicine, so had symptoms similar to yours. After changing psychiatrists, I was finally (after 6 months) diagnosed properly and put on the right meds. I stuck with the psychotherapy and continue to take my medication as directed by my doctor. I've stayed out of the hospital for 15 1/2 years.
Hang in there-- with the right treatment, your life can only get better.

yea, i was on that 2 years ago, it was prescribed for anti psychiatric care and i had anxiety, depression...
and i had sleeping problems, i hated it. it has many side effects, including feeling very unfocused. i didn't feel meds were helping me so i decided i wanted to feel well without them. i just wanted to feel well and good for myself, taking care of myself and enjoying life in the healthy normal way. i gave up on the meds straight away.
being on the meds makes your head feel unfocused and when your coming off them you slowly, start too actually realise how much those meds effect you...
it takes a while to recover, but you shouldn't be on those for too long because they wouldn't be doing any good for you, therapy or counselling is a better solution, but also a lot of time to yourself... but mostly f*ck it and start ENJOYING LIFE.
why are you taking those? any reasons?

if you want to sort out your sleeping problem take several more overdoses.

That should make you sleep permanently
