parents who be the parent not the "best friend"
A good child is well mannered and shows respect
Stands up to his friends when they are doing wrong
is kind to animals
Is a good friend
can apologise when he does wrong
Respects his parents
this is just not what makes a good child, it is what makes a good human being. We learn from our parents and such these are the traits a parent should show and expect from their child. It is our job to guide them to be good people. Teach them right from wrong. I think many parents give up on teaching this to their kids when it gets hard. But the thing is when it gets hard is when they need it the most

Loving parents who take their parenting seriously: Show the child you love him/her as well as showing love to each other; spend quality time w/the child; answer questions as truthfully as you can w/o going into a detailed explanation; help the child w/education (attending parent-teacher night, supporting school activities,etc.); don't discipline without explaining why the need for discipline; compliment on every good thing that is done, with or without being asked.

I don't think - I know! You must have good parents to raise a good child. The parents must love, nurture, discipline and guide the child.

i have 5 good children but i will tell you why i think my eldest Michael is not only good but great, well they all are great , all for different reasons,
Michael, eldest takes that role to heart, feels for everyone, his heart is larger then his 6'2 body
Steven, he is a loner, yet the best big brother to Sarah and Samuel, he is the looker in the family and is so mysterious
David, so very close to god wants to be a minister , is very clean and simple yet deep
Samuel very empathetic even at 2, yet makes every one of us feel soooo special
Sarah, our angel, every ones favorite sweet to her core , it is genuine she is truly sweet, she is trusting and naive but with 4 brothers she can be, they are always there to protect her
