If you are driving alone does your passenger airbag light, stay on or go off?

it should come on with a passenger and go off when no one is in the seat it may stay on if you set something in the seat heavy enough to turn on the occupancy sensor so if your alone nothing in the seat it will go out and disarm the passenger side air bag

The air bag light indicates as it should I think. Read the section 1 page 28 to 36. I have people who lean to far back and the air bag status light illuminates. Just keep people upright and belted in you will be ok. The cracked heater case should not have affected the air bag control system. No matter how wet the floors got. The air bag light does not function like it used to the light staying on all the time was distracting at night. So please re read the owners manual.

both wrong. ive seen this at work in the work trucks... if nobody is sitting in the passenger seat, it will disable the passenger airbag. have someone sit in the seat, and watch the light go off. there is obviously some kind of sensor in the seat.

Tate tate is correct. The air bag off light illuminates for about 7 seconds then gos off. That light would be a distraction especially at night. Your car is functioning normally. Please read section #1 page 44 in your owners manual. Air bags save lifes. Reading the owners manual saves trips to the repair shop.

air bag lite should not be on no matter how many people are in the car --- go get it reset
