They think our soldiers deserve death and that 9/11 was good and we all deserve it! They go with "hate" signs outside funerals (soldiers, police, dead gay people etc). Signs that are so nasty it's as if Satan himself wrote them. What is even more twisted is they pretend to know God. All this hate in God and Jesus name (when Jesus is his exact opposite!!) Phelps is some closet case who hates everyone and made it his "religion" a preacher of a so called church. They support Iran killing our American soldiers. He should take his old miserable self there then. Ugh they thrive off publicity. To cloak hatred and sociopath behavior in the name of God is so Devil- like. I think if you ask this Phelp's guy (Fred is it?) his real name he would open his mouth and say "my name is LEGION for we are many"!! So my question is how can this guy think the way he does?

The Phelps and their church, Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka KS, is not made up. Oh yes, these people are for real, and yes, I believe they are evil.
I don't know how they can possibly think the way they do, but it isn't the first time the bible has be bastardized for the sake of evil. Look at the KKK, or World Church of the Creator, or the inquisitions.....

Oh yes, Fred Phelps... I heard he got sued by the families of the soldiers and had to shut his church down... I believe the amount was 11 million...

Fred Phelps has been going at it for over 20 years. He advocated for concentration camps for HIV+ people, young and old, black, white or purple. His inbred clan is some of the most hateful people I've ever seen. Worse, they use the Bible and claim to be Christians.

I prefer Christians who profess love is better than hate.

His name is Fred Phelps and he is a huge embarrassment to Kansas. He's based in Topeka. I'm guessing he thinks the way he does because he was probably majorly abused as a child. He also may be gay and in total denial.

He's an extremely misguided person. Someone who may have started out with good intentions and then became full of himself and decided that he knew what God wanted and what God thinks. There are many who believe they are the mouthpiece of God...but they are not always so extreme.

Once Satan finds the crack he needs...he just keeps widening it. This is why it's important to keep your eyes fixed on Christ and follow him.

Dumb Christians give dumb atheists reason to believe this is what Christianity is all about. The smart ones, however, know better.

I believe he has a mental illness. Who even comes up with ideas like that? Here's an answer: an insane man. When God tells you to hate, you must be praying to the wrong God.

It's long, but if you have time I highly recommend reading the below expose of Phelps. It doesn't explain his inherent insanity, but it shows you something the headlines don't.

The guy is six sigma insane. Yes, he's real, but his picketing is only tip of the iceberg on his hate and madness.

Oh, is that his name? Yeah, I've heard. I am absolutely disgusted with these people who are trying tear nations, lives, and families apart so viciously, but even moreso that they're doing it "in the name of God." It's sad to see people like them, with Satan's fist clenched so tightly around them. That guy's going to burn in Hell, and nobody's going to be sorry.

He thinks the way he does because he is guided by the spirit. However, he forgets that not every spirit is a holy spirit.
