I quit two years ago...I didn't really get nicotine cravings (like withdrawal symptoms), but I did feel more productive when I used to smoke. I feel like cigarettes were probably the best motivation for me to study on time and stay up to write papers/study for exams. I've never been too into caffine as it makes me way too jittery to concentrate. I always felt nicotine relaxed me enough so I could focus for a few hours and I had something to look forward to when I needed to take a break. I also really miss my morning cigarette, cause that's when I could center and plan my day.
As far as taste/smell goes, it's been so long that those are no longer tempting to me. I DON'T miss coughing all night long and not being able to get to sleep.
If you still miss smoking sometimes, what do you miss about it most?

I have ADHD (was diagnosed at 21 after I quit smoking and couldn't focus in class anymore)...I take adderall now, and it helps me keep focused and study, but it's just not the same for some reason...

I quit cold turkey 8 years ago and I never think about them. I never want one I had God helping me.

Just something to do with my hands I guess.
And something my friend and I could share at parties, being two of only a few smokers we know.
But now I save money, I don't have to explain the reek of smoke in my clothes to my mum, and I'm not so worried about my friend because she doesn't cough up crap every 10 minutes.

I felt more productive too! It was a little carrot to focus on, something to work towards. I don't miss spending money. I don't miss coughing either. I don't miss stinking. But sometimes, mostly at night and in the car, I do miss it. But it's worst at night. I used to go sit on the front porch, have incredible conversations on the phone and smoke half a pack of cigarettes. I miss that a lot. They were also a good way to pass a few minutes, measure time by "one more cigarette and I'l go" instead of "4 minutes and I'll go". Lots of things we miss I reckon. But I know the benefits far out weigh what we miss. (Tell me more about what you miss so we can recollect on it though, hehe)
What was your brand? Merit Ultimas, king size in a hard pack here, please.

I quit five years ago and I miss it sometimes. I am not sure what I miss about it other than it was something to do with my hands. Also coffee and cigarettes make a great diet that I can no longer partake in, ah oh well, the sacrifices we make for the semblance of health.

I'm no doctor, by any means... but have you considered being tested for ADD? This is a serious question, not a joke. My son deals with this (he's 27), and that sounds a LOT like him. Couldn't hurt to be checked!

I'm trying to quit again, but I enjoy certain things about smoking. Mostly it helps me relax and not feel so fast minded and out of it.

I miss being able to walk away from my desk and go outside for 10-15 minutes every hour or so and still get my breaks and lunch hour.
