This is embarrsing but I have to ask and im serious about this.
Ok ummmm when I was younger I discovered masturbation however I had no clue what it was. However I do know what it is now and if I didn't know back then is it a sin?

As long as you stopped and repented, then hopefully it won't count as a sin. You had no knowledge that it was wrong.
BTW what religon are you? Each religion might have its own belief about masturbation. For instance in Islam, masturbation is not allowed.
Also this is not an embarrassing question. How are we supposed to learn if we don't ask?

No, it's not a sin. Sin is someone else's preconceived notion of right and wrong and there is not wrong with masturbation. At least 80% of male population and 65% of the female popluation do it. It's healthy and natural. Just remember, all things in moderation.

You could only if you have full knowledge that what you are doing is a sin and that you have full will in the act.
But anyway, I dont think masturbation is bad. I mean what is soo bad about it. Maybe when you think of immoral thoughts when you do it is a sin but the act itself, no.

Masturbation was a common practice in Rome, yet no Bible passage ever touches the subject. We are urged to gain control of our members so we are not ''turned on'' by fornication, loose conduct, etcetera – but Masturbation itself (toward clean sexual thoughts) is not condemned. It would be up to the individual to decide it is was wrong or right from him / her. If it affects their relationship with God – we should though put him first.

It's not a sin, it never has been one and who told you that it was.
There is only a statment that's in the Bible that I know of, but I'm not as familar with it as I used to be.
It's in the Old Testament, it says that is better to pour your seed in the belly of a whore than to spill it on the ground. There is not 11 commandments.

Seriously, don't worry so much about it. I believe it is no sin unless it's done excessively or during marriage. When the Bible is silent on a point you just look at all the similar points it does teach about and make your own decision.

well... this happened to me too.... i onli realised it was a sin at church during a sermon. but i believe that God will forgive you and take you back into his arms again. as long as you repent and confess of your sins to him , he is willing to cleanse you and restore you. God is a God who loves us and he can't wait for us to say that we're sorry cos he wants to bless us and help us on in our lives.
