How come whenever i answer a question about religion, when the asker wants to know what i believe in i always get thumbs down?! I do not believe in God, is that a problem to all of those people who give me thumbs down!? I believe in evolution and the big bang theory. What is so special about God?! No offense to any of the "believers" but i just think God is like a ghost or something that "controls" the billions of people on Earth?! How come the dinosaurs were here before God and everything, and then he suddenly has this "creation" and makes the world?! I just don't think the whole thing is fair, that people will disrespect you if your a "non-believer". What do you think about the situation? I really dont know?! Without God couldn't this world be a better place with many less wars?!

Its about the religious people getting everyone else to believe in something that can not be prove to exist. They give cop-out answers to justify their gods actions or lack of actions and expect people to blindly accept it.

The fact that you are showing that you are a freethinker scares them and that is the reason why they give you thumbs down.

There are many many flaws in the concept of god.
If you ask some logical questions you will see how much the three concepts of god is flawed.
the three concepts of god are that he is all-powerful, all-knowing and all-loving.

If he is all-loving they why would he send people that he "created" to hell?

If he is all-knowing then why does he need to test our faith if he is all-knowing?

See what I am getting at?

Do not let the thumbs down bother you, look at it as a way that you are actual right about your replies.

"Without God couldn't this world be a better place with many less wars?!" - Well if you mean there would not be religious wars - it's possible. One thing you forgot about humans is greed and desire. Rome and the Huns, and others all had a leader that wanted world conquest. No gods involved there.
"What is so special about God?! No offense to any of the "believers" ..." - Saying this you sure step in the dog poop every time. And saying "no offense" doesn't take away the sting to many.
"i just think God is like a ghost or something that "controls" the billions of people on Earth?!" - This is a total misunderstanding of others you talk to. GOD is not controlling humanity. Ever. GOD has given a policy/message and people that have explained it, last GOD sent Jesus. Reducing all this to a "ghost" is going to upset everyone. Atheists rarely insult others so clearly. So not knowing you people will think you a preteen on someones computer while babysitting. You need to use grammar, and your vocabulary so people can see your educated and old.
"Why do people disrespect me about my beliefs?" - It must be that you read as a young person, without the years or life experiences to be taken seriously. A person over say 25, or 30 reads differently, due to their education thru life and books.
But as I never met you this is all a guess. If people that know you treat you well, all's good, right? Few in R&S care for strangers comments about their life style.

Many people have been afraid over the years to come out and admit they are Atheists out of fear of being ostracized from the general community . Many light skinned blacks were afraid to be "proud" out of the same type of fear in the USA . We threaten all those beliefs that those people held on to since childhood like a scraggly security blanket .
I understand you meant to say the dinosaurs were here before god [ supposedly started to create the earth , heavens and man ] .

Edit for Anna P :
Definitions of "disrespect" on the Web:

an expression of lack of respect
a disrespectful mental attitude
contempt: a manner that is generally disrespectful and contemptuous
have little or no respect for; hold in contempt

Edit for Ebony : Apparently you are one of those preachers who feels that if she uses enough words people will think there's some truth to what they are saying . Fortunately the smart ones can tell you're just rolling out the myths . And the dumb ones probably gave up after the first ( of WAY too many ) paragraph .

Sweetie, I don't care what you believe. I only ask that you research and actually learn about what you " Think" is right. Because you don't sound to informed on anything. You believe in the big bang theory, that's wonderful and you believe in evolution, Sure I can see that... But Just because Dinosaurs were here before us doesn't mean that God didn't create them as well. You need to explore everything you can before you make up your mind. I can tell you are young still, Don't settle on one Idea. If you do you are only hurting yourself.

You don't respect others beliefs if you are getting mad because they thumbs you down for not believing in God, It's only Their belief you deserve a Thumbs down for your answer... Deal with it, there are many disappointments in life, Especially for a person who isn't capable of having faith.

I agree with about God, evolution, wiener dogs and cake. But don't be offend by thumbs down, it just people disagreeing with you. You're always going to come across that in life so you may as well learn how to deal with it now. Life is too short to take seriously like that.

I am a Christian, and fully respect your beliefs. I apologize on behalf of others who put you down. People who do that are usually insecure in what they believe, so they have to "defend" it. I'll leave you with this: even though God seems like "a ghost or something", know that you are loved. It's ok to have unanswered questions and for God not to make sense.

The dinosaurs were not here before God, where on earth did you hear or read that? I only do thumbs down when someone is really disrespectful, and I've done on messages from all types of people. So, some people "disrespect" you (that's not even a "real" word). They are showing displeasure, they don't even know you.

PS I've never given you a thumbs-down as far as I know. I'd still love to know where you learned that we are taught that God came after the dinosaurs--that's close to extremely funny.

Well I, for one, do not disrespect you for your disbelief, dear one. That is entirely your choice and you have a personal right to it. I get thumbs down because I DO believe. So we're both in the same boat, so to speak.

But, by the way, the dinosaurs were not on earth before God. God created them. *wink*

God bless!

Honestly, I have no problem with people giving me thumbs down. They're just expressing their opinion about mine. Nothing wrong with that. Besides there are more important things to worry about than a thumb rating.

However, I do sometimes wish that Yahoo provided a comment option by the thumbs.(With only that person able to view them) , because there are days where I'd love to explain my reason behind the rating I gave to someone.

Peace:-)
