Well, I have been emotionally & physically charged throughout my life then I have had some very dark times and I got through by kind of getting out of myself and looking at me from outside and thinking of how easy it all goes when everything goes well and the notion that so long as I have my health, my freedom and the sun is out there then it can't be that bad, in fact it is beautiful!

So with that in mind I set out to do something good for myself to combact the "draining" and slowed down on the smoking and picked up swimming.
The healthier you are, the clearer you think and so you are mentally more powerful. Thus your problems become smaller and easier to resolve. It's all about energy. Get more energy by getting healthier.
You could also get involved with some charities, there's nothing better than realizing that there are tons of people MUCH worse off than you are that need your help.
Also, you could start uncluttering the house by donating some of the stuff, giving makes you feel good, makes the receiver feel even better and you gain space which makes you breathe better and it all helps the spirit.
Keep on moving, a rolling stone never gets any mould on it and mould is what kills the spirit.

First off, sleep really helps.

When I feel that emotionally drained, I usually don't look to spirituality for help to keep plugging on. Usually, it's a LOT more mundane, more along the lines of, "Tomorrow night, _Bones_ and _House_ will be on. Monday will not last forever!"

I look to God for spiritual strength when I'm feeling desperately unhappy or unsatisfied with myself, rather then drained.

Counting blessings. Looking for the good. Smiling. Speculating how God might have good in this trial for me,. a good result. Recently it really encouraged me to read the story of Shimei in 2 Samuel 16. Shimea cursed David and kicked up trouble when David was at his low point, fleeing from Absalom. When Joab wanted to kill the bad guy, David said, "If God has told him, 'Curse David!' who am I to say, 'What are you doing?'" It had not occurred to me that God is really in control of everything. But it's a relaxing thought, a hopeful thought for me now.

True. But, remember that spirituality has nothing to do with religion or being of a certain belief system.

There is always this little voice inside me willing me to go on. No matter hoe far i find myself out of the presence of God, there is always this inner sense of consciousness urging me to get back in place.

Then i am assured that my works could never get me in a right relationship or into the righteousness of God but rather my faith in the power of his blood to cleanse me continuously.

1 John 2:27 (King James Version)
27But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him

God bless
