MS symptoms can be sensory disturbances and weakening of limbs, but there are a host of other issues that can cause this type of problems...stress, viral infection, Lyme's disease, pinched nerves etc.

Diagnosis is difficult with MS, which is why a MS diagnosis is usually initiated by ruling out all other plausible causes for the symptoms the patient is experiencing.

My first symptom of MS was numbness. I went through a number of tests and had an EEG, to help rule out strokes, tumours, electrical disturbances in my brain, Lyme's disease, mineral and vitamin deficiency, pinched nerves and viral attack on my nerves. When all these came out negative, I was sent for an MRI, which showed typical MS-lesions. I more or less got my diagnosis there and then, although I had to have a lumbar puncture to confirm the diagnosis.

I wish you all the best with the doctor's appointment. Hopefully, it won't be MS.

MS is a tricky disease to diagnose.

Symptoms include weakness, changes in sensation, difficulty with speech, swallowing, vision ...

These alterations can initially be transient.

If you are seriously thinking you might have MS, you should see the doctor and get it sorted out.
