Why do you ask?
Are you offering to buy me one?
Or are you doing a consumer preference survey?
Or writing a sociology thesis?
(If you must know, I prefer tube, because I think the picture is better and viewable from a wide range of angles.
I prefer 4: 3 aspect ratio over "widescreen", because I don't like to have the picture distorted by being stretched sideways, or alternatively cutting off the top and bottom and missing out the subtitles.
I like a large size in the sitting room but smaller in the bedroom.
I also have a front projection TV and screen, but I don't use it very much because it is very noisy and the cost of replacing the lamp puts me off.
I have also been loaned a 42 inch HDTV LCD set for a month, so I have been able to compare|)

I have been using rear projection televisions since '97 and I love them. They are slightly big and space consuming but their picture is still awesome. I will probably finally make the move to a flat panel probably LCD because projection are no longer in production commonly. Tubes are ok but only had one in my house since I was born ('93). Front Projectors are nice. I would like one for movies but thats it. Thats all I have to say!

The tube TV's are nice, but my first HDTV was a 35 inch unit that weighed over 250 lbs.
The rear projectors are my favorite. You can get big sizes for not too much money.

I like flat-panel LCDs. My parents are about to get a Sony XBR and I have a 23" Samsung in my room. I love flat-panel LCDs. They're just so nice.

OK, it depend on what you're going for:
LCD--
Pros: Great colors, lightweight, wall-mountable, sturdy, attractive
Cons: Black coloring is washed out, expensive
Plasma--
Pros: Crisp, dark blacks; wall-mountable, attractive, less expensive than LCD
Cons: Washed out colors, heavy, delicate, still expensive
Projection (DLP)--
Pros: Best picture quality per square inch; low price to size ratio
Cons: Huge and bulky; heavy; viewing angles are not as good from side to side
Tube--
Pros: Great picture quality; inexpensive
Cons: Very bulky, very heavy, limited size capability, being phased out by manufacturers

i like the flat panels best, because they fit wherever you need them to, especially if you wanted to put them in the corner of the room, which is how it is in our house, so it is very practical
