The Lord said in all his books that he created mankind to worship him first. What part of that did you miss?

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."
"For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." This means if the works a man has done in his lifetime have been only to satisfy his own self, he will receive rewards which will end at the graveyard but if the works a man does in his lifetime follow the words of Jesus, who came into this world to share the way of life with mankind - to love God and love his neighbors as he loves himself- his rewards will transcend the flesh and return to him in the spirit, which lives on beyond the grave. In short, the person who has lived a selfish and self serving life will die in his sins. The person who has shared love, obeyed the gospel and worshipped God in Spirit and in truth will receive everlasting life in heaven.

I don't think worship is required. Do we require our kids to worship us? No. If we were put here, we were put here to live our lives and learn our lessons, not worship some nebulous who knows what that someone decided to believe 2000 yrs ago. If we were not put here, then we have come of our own volition and design and worship is not required. Any way you slice it, "worship" is not part of the deal. Gratitude for the opportunity and things that make us happy maybe, but not worship.

Peace!

Missed? How about misinterpretted or mistranslated? There are no synonyms, when you get right down to it which makes translation from language to language hard to really verify.

If you want to worship, that is wonderful. If I don't see it as required, that is ok too. We each believe and taste and see what we need to for our individual lessons and purppose - and there is no way to truly know the Unknowable. Worship doesn't feel right to me - it doesn't feel like the truth. I must follow my instincts right? It's not like I ignore it - you can clearly see I think about it. There are many paths to the Divine.

Peace!

You die just like everyone else, except you did not waste time on foolishness. Belief in a god or Deity is like having a terminal disease. It needs to be inoculated with that healthy serum called intelligence which will give you back your life instead of your thoughts and ideals being from the dark ages.

Now you'd be feeling pretty crappy and you'd probably be resenting yourself for being so self-centered.
