In terms of gameplay, the PS3 is much like the Xbox 360, but the PS3 has the Sixaxis motion sensing controller, and it is used in many PS3 games to do certain actions.

For example in Resistance Fall of Man for the PS3, if one of the alien creatures jumps on you and starts biting you, you must shake the PS3 controller up and down to knock it off of you. Plus the Sixaxis controls are used throughout other PS3 games in other different ways as well.

Also, the PS3 has more advanced technology and features than the Xbox 360, and the PS3 doesn't have hardware problems like the Red Ring of Death Xbox 360.

I think that the Wii is for younger players that might be ages 10 and under and for unexperienced game players.

The PS3 and Wii are really different, and you could comfortable have a Wii alongside either of the big boys. People who rate it like its fun factor and its accessibility to non-gamers, but its range of games is slightly last-gen - there's quite a few PS2 ports and co-releases.

The PS3 is much closer to the 360 in terms of games, but its ambition as a media centre is far more developed. Factoring in Playstation Home, the soon-to-be-released PVR add-on, the Playstation Eye camera and streaming-to-PSP Remote Play, and you have something that's far more than just a games machine.

I think the Wii and PS3 couldn't be more different, but PS3 games are only just starting to outshine the 360 (it's a very different architecture, but they're getting the hang of it) so unless the media aspects of the PS3 are important to you you'll probably not notice enough of a difference to justify a PS3 right now... but in 6 months?

Meanwhile a Wii will be fun, and perhaps you could do with improving your muscle tone in your right arm? ;-)

Well I own a PS3 & a Wii.The PS3 is not like the 360,my bro has a Xbox 360 and his system broke down on him just recently after playing too much Halo 3 and the PS3 never overheats and is really quiet for its size plus mine (the 80GB model) plays PS2 & PS1 games also and it has a Blueray drive built in while the Wii has no DVD,HD-DVD or Blueray capabilities at all.The PS3 has a big lineup of games to come like GTA IV,Granturismo 5 & God Of War 3 while the biggest thing to come to the Wii is Super Smash Bros.Brawl.The PS3 looks alot better and is more apealing to the eye than the Wii that looks like a mini toaster with a neon light inside.Comparing the power of the PS3 to the Wii is like comparing the power of a Pagani Zonda F to a Honda S2000,theres no comparision PS3 wins.

its easy , u bu an xbox 360 top rate(no longer elite) purchase some video games , then make do with the video games uve have been given and save up for the 120gb stressful force that u could purchase , then uve have been given a white xbox 360 with the main important stressful force, elites are a waste of money coz the sole distinction is there black relatively and larger memory, yet save up for the hardrive and thts taken care of
