To me, it says that there are an awful lot of people who think that self-professing pagans are better examples of "Love thy neighbor" than self-professing Christians.

Does this sadden you as much as it saddens me?

Do you have a different take on it?

Well, first off a 'pagen' cannot be a Christian...better or otherwise since the base definition of a Christian is a "follower of Christ". But I do agree that there is a very sad decline in true Christians in this world, but that I mean ones that not only go to church on sundays, but study the Word of Christ AND try their best to apply it to their daily lives. We can say that we believe in Christ all we want, but if we don't follow His teachings and strive to walk in His foot steps we cannot call ourselves true Christians. When Christ was asked by the Pharisies what the most important 'law' was he responded "To love the One True God with all your heart, but EQUALLY as important is to Love your neighbor as you love yourself.".....sometimes easier said than done for sure...but I believe that it's the truth in our own heart, the true desire to follow Christ's teachings that makes a Christian a true Christian...and yes, it is very sad that although there are a whole lot of very good people out there, that so many have strayed from the true path to salvation.

Thanks.

Hisorically the pagans did get along toKings would have advisers from both religions. And the change from pagan to christian,in many ways has been a slow one. With a mixing of beliefs and traditions occurring. The major problems occuring during the Roman empire when pagans were burning and killing Christians and the inquisition when the Catholic church tortured anyone who disagreed with them.(This included other Christians. But most of this was politics not religion.) The Atheist could slowly move into post modern thinking or nietzche philosophy and do as he will as neither depends on ultimate values.

I think in a way they are, they are close to their dieties (Gods/ Goddesses) and pray everyday and honor the world we live i n, where as most christians I know, that do go to church, most of the time when they're older and think if they go to church it will get them through those pearly gates, only pray on sunday and sin on Monday. Not all but a lot! The last time I walked into a church there was so many empty seats!

Most Christians don't understand we all come from the same place their ancestors were pagan too and we do follow a lot of the same beliefs if you think about it (holidays for one) and many do believe in Jesus but as a teacher.

Every Pagan event I've gone too was family oriented, very friendly, very honest, very open and welcomed everyone into their rituals (prayers), I've met a lot that will open their homes and give you their last dollar if it will help and I think because they are this way makes it easier for some Christians not to like them or except them.

The sad thing is too, if Christians where to walk into their gatherings or event's the Pagans will welcome them in no questions asked, if they where to walk into a church heads turn and you hear whispers and backs turned.

I live in a family with both and I guess I'm lucky with both worlds!

Pagans are reincarnated Christians who went to heaven -informed of the truth and sent back to earth to be tormented by present existing Christians -- reincarnation does not exist because Jesus was incarnate --And you can not come back twice --Theology proves that -- As a former Christian who became a pagan who was reincarnated as a cucumber who was inserted into a vigina to be reborn as a believer I should know these thing --Have faith that my witness is true --God loves pagans

You could look at it that way - We certainly do not believe in Christ religiously, but we do basically follow the same moral code, and to boot we do not do it because we are pagans we do it because we are good people. If you can only be a good person under the veil of religion how good a person are you? If all of a sudden your belief changed or was proven false would you begin lying, dishonoring, killing etc?

We do not condemn others or attempt to convert people who are not looking to change their view. This comes off as a little more respectful than your average Christian. There are obviously other differences that are a little more spicy and generally Christians take a very hard stance leaving little room for discussion even. You believe in a man that epitomized common decency and you claim to follow his path, but do you truly practice it? If you are comfortable with your belief than you don't need the masses behind you to represent this view - I think pagans are more secure and comfortable in their beliefs which ultimately allow us to practice more and preach less...

I like to think we are more humanistic. *S* I can only speak for myself.
I do not feel the need to speak for my gods. They can speak perfectly well themselves. I would not be presumptuous enough to do so. For that reason, I'm not going to go around preaching what the gods say. I know what they say to ME. I have no idea what they say to anyone else. Wanna piss a god off? Misrepresent. Not pretty. Most pagans feel that way. We thing our paths are individual. We actually take a lot of pride in that. So we aren't going to knock on anyone's doors.

Jesus did not hunt down believers. He preached and they found him. They came to HIM. I truly wish more Christians would remember that. Jesus respected everyone, believers and non-believers. He preached love and tolerance and It hink he would be bitterly disappointed if he was here to see what they have done to his word.

i know a few christians on here, and in the real world that i would consider christ-like.

it makes me sad the way everyone treats everyone else. it's not just christians, or atheists, or pagans, but everyone.

we just need to be nicer to each other.

bright blessings

Mankind should stop slicing people apart because of what they believe. Judging people by their actions is the preferred way to go.

In a lot of ways yes. We pagans don't tell others they are going to suffer horrible pain for eternity if they don't believe what we believe. We say there is no one right way.
