Im seeing a counceler but I cannot go on anti depressents withought stopping the ruaccutane, which is clearing my skin.

So im confused about what to do and just wanted some advice.

Ignore that first answer; I know the pain of wanting clear skin even at the expense of other things. It's so important, and apparently someone doesn't know that. But don't worry, there are other ways to combat depression or bipolarity without medication. Medication should be a last resort, especially if you're young. But you said that you have a counselor; try talking to him/her more and be honest with your feelings and what you believe is going on. Try writing some notes about it to take with you to your next session and if you feel you're not being completely honest, stop and force yourself to be. I know that sounds odd, but that really helped me, just to stop and say, 'wait a minute, I'm not giving you the whole story.' Medication should definately be the last thing you try though, after talking to your counselor more. She may be able to give you some more coping mechanisms for you to work with like writing or running(cliche, I know.). I wish you the best.

Well if you feel that you are becoming Bi-Polar. Then maybe pharmacological methods are the way forwards. To be blunt. The skin disorder is a superficial surface thing. The depression is a deep down serious issue that needs addressing. The decision is yours entirely but the effects depression can have are drastic.

i would book an appointment and see your GP, once there tell him/her your feelings fears, and the dilemma you are over your medication, you will be instructed right, never stop medicines until you are told to do so, okay, dont take other peoples eithereveryones different you will get better, you'll feel like hell now, but in time your life, feelings will become less heavier and you'll soon be doing the things you find difficult to do now, get well, and your mum, yours a fellow sufferer.

It sounds as if there is a link between your skin and how you feel. You need to get to the root of the problem, and it sounds as if you get panicky which causes skin problems which in turn causes you to get depressed.

I would put your mental health first. Keep seeing your counselor. If you start having thoughts about hurting yourself or other, it will be worth it to let your skin go for a while.

Good luck.

Sweetheart, nothing is as important as your mental health, so I would advise you to stop the ruaccutane, and take the antidepressants. What's beautiful skin without peace of mind? Good luck!

I would have a word with your gp, and ask him/her what combination of things can be taken to help with both your skin and your depression.
