I want to build something like a rocket powered skateboard or a flying glider like on spiderman 3. I'm not some young kid who's fantasizing I just want to build things and sell them I want that to be my occupation

I can hear the Wright Brothers discussing this same thing a few years ago..Oh they may have used different nouns in place of spider-man or gadget but i bet they were just as eager to accomplish ,with bravado the same tasks...They did it all with a minimum of understanding of what they were doing they didn't use the NET or have a book on aerodynamics or even really understand how to guide the plane but their gadget got us here to this point...Me answering this question....So if you want to build a rocket powered skateboard and you feel up to the challenge i would never say to you "you can't do it" because I KNOW you can do it. With the right training and the right use of that training you might even be doing it on MARS. Go for it,,, fantasy is what tomorrows are made of....From the E...

You might arrive at a point in your career where you have to interview and assess employees, negotiate with potential partners, compare the gauges and alloys of metals and other materials for your components, study tax forms and rules, find exactly the right suppliers, compose borrowing proposals, determine targeted selling prices, both wholesale and retail, as well as your targeted end user, their age range, family income, packaging methods,hobby shops, discount stores door to door. Many universities have programs that combine mechanical and aerospace engineering and that sounds like a good match for those sorts of products. You might also want to look at automotive engineering which has strong aerodynamic components.

Mechanical Engineering would be your best bet. But you will need to develop skills in more number of areas. Design and Innovations usually require skills from various fields.

Get to know someone who has similar interests. Working together can help.
