Anywhere from three characters to four including the surnames. Some people have two word surnames whereas most people have one world surnames. The name is usually two characters long, but some people make it three. It also depends on what language it is and how it is translated. A lot of people have long names, but they are not necessarily Chinese names, but translated names. Generally, Chinese people have three to four character names. Hope this helps.

Depending on the surname and the name of the person. For surname, it is commonly 1 character. but some chinese have surnames with 2 characters. For the name, its usually 1 or 2 characters. 2 and 3 characters names are more common.

well that would depend on the family name and however long they wanted to make it....that's like asking how long is an average american's name......some ppl are elizabeth catherine baker, others May Life Kittering..or w/e.......but i think alot more chinese have three words in their names
like

Xiao Yin Zhang

Xiao and Yin are actually their First names

Zhang would be the family name/ last name

most chinese don't have middle names.....

but then Some are just

Ping Li

ping first name and Li last....there really isn't an exact science for this...

but anyways hope this helps! =]
