Does Tea Have Caffeine

Tea has caffeine. It has more caffeine than coffee, however, it does not have the same effect on your body that caffeine from coffee does.

Coffee affects your central nervous system. That is why when you drink to much coffee you end up with the jitters and your hands shake. You have had to much caffeine.

Tea on the other hand affects your brain. It has a calming effect on your body and makes you more focused and open. This is why when you study you should sit down with a pot of tea to study, not coffee.

The amount of caffeine depends on the barnd and the type. There are 4 types, black tea, green tea, white tea, (which are all from the same basic plant) and herbal tea. Black tea is your everyday lipton, pg tips, bigaleow etc ti is grown to maturity and then dried out using heat which is what blackens it. Green tea is becoming more common as it has been introduced into the western world from China it is the same plant as black tea, but it is not as mature, and no heat is used to prepare it, allowing the tea leaves to keep their green color White tea is VERY expensive, it was at one point reserved for the Empororer in China. It is the same plant as mentioned previously, but it is made from a very young plant before it has time to mature. This is why it is so expensive, it take 10 times as many plants to get as much as you have from black tea.

Herbal tea can be made of anything from lemon grass to hibuscus. It can be any color or flavor. Some is caffeinated, some isn't.

Most tea has caffeine. A cup of black tea has less than half the caffeine of a cup of coffee and a little less than a typical can of cola. A cup of green tea has a little more caffeine than a cup of decaffeinated coffee. You might be referring to theanine, which is a natural amino acid. It does have an effect on the brain, but it's normally considered a positive effect of reduced stress and increased relaxation. I haven't heard of any negative effects of theanine. Yes, tea is healthier than coffee. While most tea does have caffeine, the caffeine content is quite low unless you drink a lot of black tea. Green tea and white tea claim to have more health benefits due to their lower level of processing, lower levels of caffeine, and higher levels of antioxidants.

All tea has less caffeine than regular coffee. White tea and red tea with an herb called "rooibos" from Africa have no caffeine at all. Black tea has the most but is still less than coffee and green tea has much less than black tea.

Regular tea will, yes. A cup of black tea has about half as much caffeine in it as a cup of coffee.

Commercial Tea is required by law to tell you if it has caffeine. I would not buy it non-commercially if i was allergic to caffeine. There are caffeine and non caffeine tea bags.
