i wanna eat these persimmons that i bought soooooo bad.
but i bought those dumb ones that make your mouth feel all dry. is there ANYTHING i can do to get rid of that or did i just buy the wrong ones???
if i use them to make a pie or something else will they still make my mouth get that sensation?

You have to check the shape of persimmons first. If it is a pointy, usually it is a dry and doesn't taste so good. People use that for cocking. If it's a flat or round one, it's sweet and OK to eat.

I don't know much about eating them straight but I have used both the round ones and the ones shaped like Roma Tomatoes in Persimmon cookies. There is no dry mouth feel when they are baked in the cookies. The recipe I use makes wonderfully moist cookies.

They probably aren't ripe yet, let them sit for a few days or put them in a paper bag with a banana and they will ripen faster. Follow the link below for all kinds of information on persimmons =)

If they are making your mouth dry, they are not ripe yet. I used to pick them every year in the fields behind my house, I have eaten plenty of them that were not ripe and they are awful!!!!
