I work with children with autism and have several families, with either 2 or 3 children with autism. Once you have 1 child with autism your chances of having another go up to 1 in 20, and once you have 2, they go up to 1 in 3. This is based off of statistical research.

I have seen kids who have signs as early as 12 months, and others who looked fine but then around 18 months started losing the words they had and started to retreat to their own little world.

Since you have a child with autism I'm assuming you know where to go for an evaluation for your younger son. The earlier it's caught the better, but hopefully your little guy is fine.

My sister and her husband have three. They have a ten year old, an eight year old, and a five year old. They both have the gene for it so it was hereditary. They haven't had much trouble with them because they all have a very mild form. They go regular school and have as much of a completely normal life as possible.

my friend has autistic twin boys. One is more severe then the other and they seem to relate best to each other just not so well with others. Good luck
