Well John Lennon I guess would have refused to be called a prophet because this would make him religious and he was an Atheist and didn't believe in religions. I guess he was a wise peaceful man indeed.

I don't know if I'd call him a prophet, but I think he was an amazing individual.
Perhaps you use a different definition of prophet than I do, but I always thought prophets were supposed to be able to predict the future.

He was smart, talented, and honest. But a prophet? No. He was just a guy. In fact all the Beatles got extremely tired of people cornering them asking if their lyrics meant so-and so, or "what did you really mean." They were really just songwriters and performers, and although extraordinary, they were not prophets.

Not sure. His message was not doctrine but he gave people a feel good feeling. Not unlike Joel Olsteen who preaches prosperity and packs a congregation of some 22,000 people each week... I think Lennon was an amazing guy - he never pretened to be a Pastor or whatever. His music was unifying and he put up with Yoko Ono.

Being privileged to be sufficiently old to undergo in concepts John Lennon, and remembering obviously what i replaced into doing on 08.12.80, for my section i do no longer imagine of John Lennon would have hated something. He does no longer and did no longer take exhilaration contained in the incorrect that replaced into achieved interior the decision of religion, yet as he consistently said peace whey could this kind of smart guy teach hate. i imagine of he would have considered human beings in this section in an truly undesirable comfortable, there are countless top right here that declare to have a god of peace on their side yet coach hate and despise others, pushing aside out of hand subject matters that are reported even as they do no longer evaluate them truly than taking the time to take heed to, and in accordance to possibility learn from the richness of information that others very personal. i anticipate he could actually have challenged your view of religion espousing peace and prefer to all grownup adult males, as optimal religious texts, and positively the bible is full of violence, smiting ones enemies, putting to lack of life unbelievers, non violent faith, something of a contradiction, and something that John Lennon would were very speedy to reveal out.

I agree with PatTexas. What do you think he was prophesizing? I'd really be interested to hear! We were discussing modern-day prophets in my Hebrew Scripture class last week. Other than Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, the only potentials we could come up with were Martin Luther King, Jr. and Billy Graham. What do y'all think about the latter two?
Please give us more details on what you believe Lennon was prophesizing so we can discuss it and give you a better answer.

He said a lot more memorable and worthwhile words about peace and love than some of those in the Bible. "Imagine" is one of the finest messages about brotherhood that I know of. He wasn't a prophet, just a dreamer.

No, not a prophet, just a very good pop songwriter and singer.
He said a lot of things while amassing a 300 million dollar fortune.

Despite what he, Yoko Ono, and his less than intelligent fans thought, he was no prophet. He was a drunken and drug addicted hippie. Besides, he was an atheist. Whoever heard of an atheist prophet? lol! How stupid.
What little he did believe in he stood up for. But that's nothing special. Ordinary people do it everyday. Mostly, he just believed in money and fame, though.
