'Hands With Bouquet' wasn't actually a painting but a watercolor drawing. It was one of the last such works by Picasso. And it became one of his more famous works.

By the time Picasso did 'Hands With Bouquet' he was in his 80s and wasn't painting much. His later works were primarily odd sculptures, drawings and experiential paintings on glass, ceramics, etc. His last creative works became more simplistic, perhaps because his painting/drawing hand wasn't as steady as it once was. Who knows why?

As far as I know no one is sure about the motivation behind his doing this drawing. He could have watched a young child hand another a bouquet or it could have been based on his handing flowers to his last girlfriend. It could even be based on his own memories from his past.
