When we all have tea-break, my boss eats his digestives and scotch bread very aggressively, chewing them vigorously, and looking at me-- out of the five of us in the office-- as if to say "This is what I'd like to do to you". Is this bullying and what can I do about it?

it depends. he may be aware of what he's doing, but is unaware others are effected by it, or that they too are aware of what hes' doing. it could be, as a Boss, he is troubled about his own responsibilities, if its his own buisness, he could have money worries. Why not take along some arnotts ginger biscuits, and let him know you you have seen him not really seeming to enjoy his biscuits....they seem very hard, and the ginger biscuits are great for dunking in hot tea, and you hope he'll enjoy them.

Take a biscuit, dunk it several times in your cup, take it out and watch it bend until it breaks. Or, dunk the biscuit, and hold it down in the cup. Then say "this biscuit looks like it has just drowned".

Why dont you do as we did....Write a letter , all sign it.. put it on his desk before he gets in there in the morning...stating that you find his eating habits are not to your taste, and would prefer it if he had his Coffee etc in his Office. If he causes trouble then take your grievance to the Board (if you have one) and state your case, it worked for us, including a letter of apology, and he was very pleasant to us afterwards.

Maybe he likes you!! I would love to see how he's looking at you while eating his bread. I wonder if he's an aggressive type.
You could have tea somewhere else. Then see if he misses you :D

What he is doing is trying to get his thoughts of you out of his head. He sees you and uses his mouth for his outlet of energy that is futilely getting you out of his love thoughts.

lol
