Brand new toaster oven?

So this morning(11-23) I bought a new toaster oven. The brand is Euro-Pro and the model is 1581. The problem is that the timer doens't work, for the first ten seconds it does the tick tick thing but then stops. The food cooks since I just burnt a piece of bread ten minutes ago. Hve you had this problem?

I have a Euro-Pro EP277 and it doesn't do that. With mine, if you turn it to the left, it's set for permanent on until you turn it off - no tick tick. If you turn it to the right, that's where the "timer" part of it is and it goes tick tick and moves until it dings and turns itself off. I found it helps to turn it quite a ways to the right and then back to the time I want to set if I don't want it on for very long. You might give that a try. If that doesn't work, then I'd call the company and find out where to get it fixed for free.
