I went into the supermarket and their groceries are mad expensive, everything there is expensive? Why is it so?

You have to compare everything we are a different counry. At the end of the month money paid out for food and services verses income is comparable. I can go into a grocery store in my own city and claim it is more expensive....

Actually I disagree with you. I spend time in the US every summer and I am shocked at some food prices. Milk is cheaper in the US and beef too. I think in both countries those are subsidized but in different ways. I didn't see a big difference in chicken or pork, But I found produce to be much more expensive in the US- like twice the cost. 4 adults and 1 cat eat very well here on about $100 -120 per week.

Two main reasons there is more transportation involved since many of the goods come through American distributors . Competition is less fierce in Canada

The reason is because the US Dollar is in the toilet! It now takes 1.50 to get 1 Euro. Soon it'll be 2 to 1! You can thank the Republicans and their 'borrow and spend' war policies! No country has confidence in our economy,except for China. Even they are getting the jitters!
