Some people were debating this yesterday during Turkey-Day celebrations and so I put it to you? What do you think of just the question itself, and what is your answer/opinion?

If the sex change is complete, all the way. (Penis made into a Vagina) then possibly if the person enlisted as a woman.
Women recruits don't have to turn their heads and cough, do they?
I was a bit embarrassed by the part about bending over and spreading my cheeks. Some medic yelled at me and told me to take my fingers out of my mouth. How else was I gonna get my cheeks apart?

No... If only because of medical issues. A "sex change" really isn't. It requires constant maintenance to keep the fraud going. Otherwise the body tries to revert back to normal... that would never happen and it would be a medical nightmare. That in addition to psychiatric instabilities would more than disqualify such an individual.

. I completely agree with vim 108 and lordkelv.
If I was in the military and found out that my room mate had had a sex change, I would request another room. It would just be too weird for me to deal with.
Lordkelv si right to me. It (the sex change) would require constant maintance and I just think it is too d*mn weird!!!!!!

Nope. This question is valid with the number of people who actually do go through with the surgery. Unfortunately, people with so much baggage would not make it through the screening process. I for one, might have a problem using the shower/bathroom with some one who used to be a male biologically.

No. A man cannot join the military if he is missing either testicle. I know someone who actually looked into it. He was planning to sell one for scientific research.

Puts a new spin on "turn your head and cough" either way!

I will say "no". Would not pass the short talk with the shrink.

Never could figure out why these guys line up for the military. What is it about showering with naked men, rather than being with your best girl on a Saturday night? They might as well be trans-gendered.
