You can try putting warm compresses on it, but you may need an antibiotic from the doctor.

Apply heat to bring the boil to a head. And, you may need some help, but you then need to pop it, removing as much of the pus as possible, including the Hard core of it. Depends on how large it is, but if you immediately fill the abscess with antibiotic ointment, and bandage it up, it will start to heal. Just keep it clean, continue to apply the ointment. This happened to my brother and it healed within a week, and quit hurting once the pressure was removed. Good luck!!
Also, if a more serious infection is starting to set in, you may need a stronger antibiotic ointment that you can only get thru a doctor.

I have killed boils by keeping the hottest washcloth I could stand on them for about 15 minutes. No cheating, I kept the water running slightly and as soon as the washcloth started to get comfortable I'd get it hot again. Have you tried an antibiotic ointment from the drug store? If that doesn't relieve it immediately and make it start to get better very soon, then I'd suggest seeing a doctor immediately. They will be able to treat it. If you can't see a doctor, you can go to the hospital emergency room. In fact, if it's already making you sick, the doctor or emergency room might be the best bet. Best wishes, Mike

You need medical attention whether you like it or not! It sounds like the infection is spreading, which is a very serious issue. The boil will need 'incision & drainage', possibly under anaesthetic, and you will need antibiotics. The complications if you do not seek medical attention are very risky, septicaemia or 'blood poisoning' is a risk. If you have a fever and are feeling sick, and the redness around the boil is spreading you need to seek medical attention immediately. The ONLY way to cure it is by incision & drainage and antibiotics. Good luck.

There is a salve called Ichthamol, you can get it at a drug store or from a veterinarian Put some on the boil and cover with gauze pad, held in place with tape. This salve will draw the boil out. You may have to use it more than once. It's good stuff, it's what I use to use.

Very hot compresses.
Icthamol and large square bandages. You need to ask for it at the pharmacy; it is about $3.00 a tube and it works.
Edited: For the people saying you must seek medical attention: only if it is clearly infected. You will see red streaks around it, it is spreading, and you have a fever.
Do not waste money on Boil-Ease if the pharmacy has icthamol. Boil-Ease is just a fancy solution that costs $11.00 a tube compared to my $3.00 solution.

Hot packs or an epsom salt soak. Whatever you do though, do not try to pop them yourself by squeezing them. Those little pus filled joys have 2 sides to them, and you're just as likely to have it burst through the back side into your body instead of just on the skin. If you do that, you're in for more trouble. Try applying heat and they should rupture on their own. If not you'll need to see the doctor.

I know how this hurts. It probably needs to be drained and that is done by a doctor. Go for it.
