My aunt and uncle have 2 puppies that are 6 months old, and recently they have started to nelgect the puppies. Also they have 4 children so it's not the best environment for puppies (the dogs have been dropped and fallen on). I would love to have a dog and have talked about with my parents before (I'm 15) and they decided i was responsible enough, we just never got a dog. My aunt and uncle have had dogs in the past and end up giving the dogs away after about a year. Is there any way for me to politely let my aunt and uncle know that we would be willing to take one of the puppies without sounding rude?

Hmm....I see where you're coming from. The best way would probably be to just act mature about it and confront them about the situation. Start the conversation by just saying something like "I think I'm going to get a puppy soon." See if they offer you their puppy. If not continue giving small hints. If this doesn't seem to work, then you need to just ask if you can walk their dogs and stuff because you love working with dogs. Let this continue for a few weeks and they will see that the best place for the puppy/puppies is with you and will hopefully give them to you. Of course, you can't force them to give you the puppies. If none of these works, respect their decision, and just go out and buy a puppy of your own. Good luck!

just be honest with them. I mean, dont be TOO honest and say something like "hey, you're neglecting these animals", but be honest about how you want a dog. Ask whichever one of them you feel the most comfortable with if they plan on keeping the puppies or if they'd considered giving one away. If they ask why you want to know, just tell them that you've talked it over with your parents, they've agreed that you're responsible enough, and you'd really like a dog. It wouldnt hurt to mention also that this way, if they give one of the pups to you, they'd know he/she went to a good owner who loves them and takes care of them, and your aunt and uncle could still see them whenever they come by. Good luck!

Go with it. Drop them hints about how your parents finally said you could have a dog, but you want to wait for one EXACTLY like the pups they have.
If they start looking for you, put them off and point out that they aren't the same...
If they are at all bright, they will end up giving you one...Maybe as a christmas present as long as they know your parents approve.
Or, you could get your parents to take your aunt asside and tell her that you want one of them, but don't want to ask...that would do the trick as well.

All of your suggestions have been good ones. But try to get them both before the kids falls and kills one of them. Since there have been raised together they will actually be happier together and they keep each other company and will be less trouble to have 2 than 1. I am amazed at how much time my two spend entertaining each other. They like to do different things so they do spend time apart. Cody like the park, Boo does not.

I would just start hinting around at how much you love the puppies and when they complain about something they do, just say, "Hey - i'll be glad to take one of them off your hands!" You could also volunteer to walk them once in a while and show them that you're serious.

thats a tough situation, maybe dont ask, but give hints?
i dunno
when your around them just say how badly you wish you could have a dog, and maybe say that if they ever need help with the pups you would be willing to.

Just start hinting around how much you love the dogs and start like helping out with them and stuff. after a week or so ask if you can have them!

Good Luck!

yes there is, when you see them just mention that if they ever decide to find a new home for one of the pups, that you would love to give it a home and please think of me first. or you can ask them out right that you would love to take one of the pups off their hands and would love to be its new owner. just be honest and if they are willing you will get your dog. if not go to the shelter near you and adopt one good luck.
