Well, I cannot deny someone is a Muslim if they say they are Muslim. I can say however that Nation of Islam is a political sect rather than a religious one. It really clashes with the teachings of Islam. And I can also say that by Islamic education, Elijah Muhammad is not a prophet of God, lol! However, like I said, if they say they are Muslim, I accept that because no one knows what lies in their hearts except God Himself.

Not really. Nation of Islam is very different than Islam.

Edit: I agree with hayaa_bi_taqwa. I don't know what is really in a person's heart. I just know that Nation of Islam is NOT what I, as a Muslim and not a member of the Nation of ISlam, believe in.

"In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Compassionate".

Facts about Nation of Islam = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nation_of_Islam

In short if anyone who made anyone a prophet after Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is not a Muslim.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) the last prophet:
Allah says, in the Holy Quran, 5:3, That he has perfected our Religion, the religion of Islam. After the Prophet Muhammed, no one was to come and do modification in it.
Since Islam is already been perfected, we do not need any mesengers, to come and warn us or show us some miracles, and claim that he is a messenger or a prophet.
If we read 33:40 Allah says:
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things. - Holy Quran 33:40
So, this verse clearly says that there Muhammed (pbuh) is the Last of the Prophet or Messengers, and there is not going to be any messenger after him.

So Nation of Islam is not a Muslim organization.

Research & observations from Holy Quran & Sahee Hadith, Religious scholars like Sheikh Ahmed Deedat’s www.ahmed-deedat.co.za, Dr. Zakir Naik's www.irf.net , www.peacetv.in, Aalama Tahir-ul-Qadri, Israr Ahmed etc.

May Allah help & guide us all, Amen’.

Islam makes a difference between Muslims and Mohmins: A Muslim is guy or woman who says Shahada (A assertion of religion). this is to state that there is no God yet Allah and Muhammad is the final messenger (Shia Muslims additionally say that Ali is the dad or mum). A Mohmin is somebody who's a Muslim yet is likewise a guy or woman who is familiar with the assertion of religion quite and follows the advantages and virtues of the assertion for this reason. I evaluate anybody who says the Shahda as Muslim, yet I basically evaluate in basic terms and robust Muslims as Mohmins.

as salaamu 'alaikym, my friend.

Insha'Allah, the Nation of Islam was founded and led by the "Honorable Prophet Elijah Mohammed".

Several problems immediately arise.

First, the Prophet Muhammad (sallaahu 'alaihi wasllaam) was the Last Prophet of Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala as the same is revealed and taught in the Holy Qur'an.

Second, the Nation of Islam claims to have "been founded by" a man and is not , therefore, Islam which is the religion Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala, gave to mankind. Alhumdulillah!

Finally, the Nation of Islam is a militant politicial organization and its members do not make the shahada. A member of the masjid I attend was formerly a member of this organization and he has been kind enough to teach us about the same.

INsha'Allah, they are not Muslims.

Ma'a salaam.

My understanding is that Nation of Islam is different than Islam.
Now I may have my facts wrong, but my understanding is that when Malcom X went on his pilgrimage to the Middle East, he saw the difference and came back to the US following Islam, and separated himself from the Nation of Islam.

No I don't. The Nation of Islam is a racist sexist cult. They expect their women to be inferior to men and think God made the Blacks superior to every other race on Earth. This goes against the teachings of Islam. Their founder Elijah Muhammad is a lier and a diceiver. He thought he was a Prophet wich is blaspheme beacause Muhammad(PBUH*) is the last and final Prophet in Islam.

No. The biggest reason is because they are a race-based organization. Islam is for everyone.
