as a wife of a currently deployed soldier i rack my brain every week for more ideas,....lol... however it doesnt matter what i send him i follow these rules....
1) never ever send PORN!!!!
2) never ever send aloholic things
3) no pork
4) always send something to make them smile :)
5) nothing that can blow up..... yes it has happened!!

i send my hubby lots of cards and things like sunflower seeds... potted meat... crackers... peanut butter.... chips.... ummm anything to get their mind off what is around them if only for a brief moment.... a yo-yo or a slinky.... umm a puzzle book... the one that has all the different puzzles is good.... books if they like to read..... phone cards to call home..... just depending on how well you know the soldier socks and t shirts( depending on his job he could ruin his shirts often)
just simple things that remind them of home....
honestly most dont care whats in the box it just that someone from home was thinking about them and rememebering what they are fighting for.... thats all that truly matters!!!

oh!!!! the single size portions of the drinks like crystal light or koolaid.... coffee... the instant kind ..... depending on his accomadations microwavable popcorn... thats if he has a microwave...

hope these things have helped.....

Don't send anything that would violate CENTCOM general order 1, as the first responder suggested you do. I would send him some Nerf guns. We had a blast with them when I was Iraq for fifteen months.

it could be large in case you deliver a letter to the commander yet no longer mandatory. you could deliver the pillows and have confidence me we use them for all styles of issues. some peoples pillows get trashed and its an extraordinary reminder on a similar time as over there that the folk lower back abode help us and are thinking approximately us.
