Good question! The quick answer is: Jesus Christ is the Son of God, he was the creator of this world, as well as others of Gods creations. He is our Savior and redeemer, Him and no other!

Our salvation comes through the atonement of our savior Jesus Christ, and by no other means or path.

We believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy ghost. The three together are one in purpose, they are all powerful, know all truth and are perfect.

Note: Schneb (who posted a answer earlier) is not teaching or repeating Mormon teachings belief or doctrines.

We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

This is the Godhead.

Jesus is part of the Godhead, therefore, is God, but He is not THE ALMIGHTY GOD, in that He is not the (His own) Father (or the Father of our spirits).

He is not "just a prophet". He is the only Begotten Son of our heavenly Father, sent to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. That makes Him our Lord and Saviour.

We do believe that Christ is God, known as Jehovah in the Old Testament. Mormons believe in the Trinity but have a slightly different view than other Christians. Mormons tend to read the New Testament more literally than other Christians when considering this question.

We believe in the divinity of the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost. We believe they are physically separate beings, but that they function in perfect harmony of will and purpose as one monotheistic unit, called the "Godhead," or, as Mormons often shorten it, just "God."

The difference between Mormons and other Christians is that other Christians technically believe that the three members of the Trinity are somehow simultaneously "one and three," but when they talk about the Trinity casually they typically speak of its three members as if they were separate beings. In casual speech Mormons speak the same way about the Trinity, except they actually do believe they are three separate beings (but one in purpose).

In the end, this slight difference in doctrine has virtually no theological consequences. To make a nerdy analogy, it doesn't matter whether you have three computer processors in one computer, or three separate computers perfectly networked together. The power and function is the same. :)

And yes, Mormons do believe Jesus is God, and they do worship him.

We believe that Jesus is Jehovah, the God of the Old Testament, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Under the direction of His Father He created the world and all that is in it. He was born as man, took our sins upon Himself in the Garden of Gethsemane, and died upon the cross in order to save us. He alone is our redeemer and saviour. Our salvation is in him and through him, and no one else.

HOWEVER, we do not believe that He is one substance with His Father. Jesus glorified God, spoke often of Him, prayed to Him, felt forsaken by Him,.appeared with Him at Stephen's martyrdom and to the Prophet Joseph Smith. God the Father and God the Son are separate beings. I think that's where your confusion arises.

Ignore schneb he is making a mockery of Mormon Doctrine.
