The virtue I am teaching to my Sunday school class for the month of December is "Peacefulness". Does anybody know of any picture books that teach this virtue?

The only one I have so far is "The Peace Book" by Todd Parr which is great.

Any others that you can recommend?

You might want to teach relaxation to teach the children about inner peacefulness. My Daddy is a Pretzel is a great introduction to yoga for children, and there is a CD called Indigo Dreams with 4 wonderful relaxation stories on it that introduce deep breathing and positive thinking. One of the stories is called A Boy and a Bear. That one teaches deep breathing, and I know you can get that one just as a book if you prefer. I got mine from amazon.com. The other stories are The Affirmation Web, A Boy and a Turtle, and now I can't remember the title of the fourth one, but there is also half an hour of relaxing music after the stories. The children in my classroom look forward to relaxation time. It is a regularly scheduled part of our daily routine. Doing a lesson on relaxation would be a great way to introduce this component into your schedule, or just to teach a lesson on inner peacefulness and self control. (Feel free to e-mail me if you want more ideas on relaxation.)
